Annabell

Annabell Perez Gwiazdoski, M.S. CCC/SLP, is a Connecticut licensed speech language pathologist and is nationally certified by the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA). A passionate bilingual clinician eager to service children within her community, Annabell started a private practice based on incorporating best practice, compassion for helping children reach their individual communication goals and strong family involvement.

In 1999, Annabell received her Masters of Science Degree in Communication Disorders from Emerson College in Boston, MA.  She completed a LEND fellowship program providing her with an extensive background in neurodevelopmental disorders.  Her clinical experience includes working at various hospitals on the East coast: Boston Children’s Hospital, Westchester Medical Center, and Connecticut Children’s Medical Center.  Annabell regularly assessed and treated inpatients and outpatients in both English and Spanish from preschoolers to adolescents with speech, language, voice, fluency, feeding and swallowing, cognitive disorders, and traumatic brain injury. She collaborated with medical doctors, nurses, physical and occupational therapists as well as other speech language pathologists within these acute care environments. Annabell further enhanced her skills by working for the New York State Early Intervention Program, assessing and treating infants and toddlers from birth to 3 years of age within their homes and providing parent education.  In addition, Annabell has worked for various local school districts as a contract employee providing and developing service plans for children ages Pre-K- 5th grade.

Providing speech therapy services for almost two decades and continuously completing continuing education credits, Annabell is an experienced and well-educated speech-language pathologist. Areas of specialized training include feeding and swallowing, Childhood Apraxia of Speech, PROMPT training, bilingual language development, fluency disorders, and social communication disorders.

Outside of the office, Annabell enjoys spending time with her husband, 3 children, and their dog.  She enjoys reading, cooking, and sitting on the beach.

Looking to provide highly individualized speech therapy, Annabell along with her business partner Rebecca O’Neill, developed Pediatric and Adolescent Speech Therapy Associates in 2004. As a result Pediatric and Adolescent Speech Therapy Associates has been servicing clients, as well as educating families and professionals in communities across Connecticut.  Annabell and her staff take great pride in the services they provide to both their clients and their families.   

 

Rebecca

Rebecca Bria O’Neill, M.S. CCC/SLP is a Connecticut Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist who has her Certificate of Clinical Competence through the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association.  Rebecca received her Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from The Pennsylvania State University in 1998.  Following completion of her academic coursework, Rebecca had the great fortune of receiving an internship and ultimately participating as a Clinical Fellow at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center in Hartford, CT.  This experience solidified Rebecca’s desire to work with children and their families.  Rebecca remained at CCMC through June 2004, during which time she was a member of the Inpatient Rehabilitation Team, performed swallowing assessments, and conducted inpatient and outpatient assessment and intervention across a great variety of age levels and speech and language diagnoses. 

As a founding member and managing partner at Pediatric and Adolescent Speech Therapy associates, Rebecca currently provides outpatient assessment and intervention at Pediatric and Adolescent Speech Therapy Associates and works as a Speech and Language Consultant providing assessment and intervention at a variety of private schools and preschools including:  Ben Bronz Academy, St Thomas the Apostle School, The Hebrew High School of New England, and St. Joseph School.  Rebecca enjoys this dynamic work environment and takes great pride in her communication with families as well as collaboration with off-site administration and staff, as well as other service providers within the community.  Rebecca has received training through the Stuttering Foundation of America through their Eastern Workshop in Boston, Massachusetts.  Rebecca’s areas of specific clinical training and interest include:  stuttering and fluency disorders, cognitive-linguistic disorders, executive dysfunction, central auditory processing disorder, pragmatic language impairments, and language-based learning disabilities.  Rebecca also maintains her clinical competencies in all areas of speech and language development through ongoing continuing education.

Rebecca resides in West Hartford with her family, including her four active sons and her black lab.  Rebecca is a proud member of the West Hartford Community and is honored to provide services to children from this and surrounding areas.

Lisa

Lisa Juliano Pillow, M.S., CCC-SLP, is a Connecticut Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist and is nationally certified by the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA).  She received her Master of Science Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Loyola University in Maryland in 1996 and was the recipient of the Dr. Bernard Saltysiak Medal for Clinical Excellence in Speech-Language Pathology. Lisa’s clinical experience includes work at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center, Franciscan Children’s Hospital in Boston, Kennedy Day School at Franciscan Children’s, Speech Pathology Services in Greenville, Ohio, private schools, Ben Bronz Academy, and Birth to Three Programs. Lisa's clinical work at Franciscan Children's Hosptital included providing  therapeutic services to children and adolescents with a variety of complex medical needs and disorders within Kennedy Day School, a private special education school. She worked as part of a team collaborating with physical therapists, occupational therapists, and special education teachers. Lisa was member of the Multidisciplinary Neuropsychological Assessment Program, which assessed a child's current levels of functioning and made recommendations for school placement and services.  Lisa was also the Clinic Coordinator for the Augmentative-Alternative Communication and Assistive Technology Program at Franciscan Children’s Hospital. As clinic coordinator, she authored a grant proposal from Ronald McDonald House Charities in order to obtain updated equipment for the clinic.  She has served as a program supervisor and clinical externship supervisor for graduate student clinicians from Boston University, Emerson College and MGH Institute of Health Professions. She currently provides supervision for graduate students from Sacred Heart University.  

Lisa has presented at several conferences including, “From Pictures to Technology: Methods for Communication and Behavioral Support” at the Franciscan Children’s Hospital Annual Conference: Children on the Autism Spectrum: Approaches, Trends, and Strategies for Skill Acquisition, “Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and Assistive technology (AT) Strategies to Support Communication & Learning” at the Connecticut Association of Private Special Education Facilities  and “Assistive Technology in Rehabilitation” at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center Grand Rounds.

Lisa has provided speech-language intervention services for a variety of communication disorders including: receptive and expressive language disorders, articulation and phonological disorders, apraxia of speech, auditory processing, social communication disorders, cognitive-communication disorders, voice disorders and fluency disorders. 

Lisa is a dedicated clinician, who takes pride in helping children and their families achieve their goals. In Lisa’s spare time, she volunteers within her community and enjoys running, coaching, cooking and watching her three daughters play sports.

 

Kristen

Kristin Greenhalgh M.Ed. CCC/SLP, is a Connecticut licensed Speech-Language Pathologist and is nationally certified by the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA). Kristin is an enthusiastic therapist whose dream was to become a SLP since she was 15 years old. She has always had a desire to work with children. She has been involved in babysitting, coaching, and mentoring children from a young age, and she’s thrilled to continue her passion through speech therapy.

Kristin earned her Masters of Education Degree in Communication Disorders from the University of Virginia in 2006. Her clinical experience includes working in the Fairfax County Public Schools in Fairfax, VA, Manchester Public Schools in Manchester, CT, The American School for the Deaf, and West Hartford Public Schools in West Hartford, CT. Kristin has worked at the Elementary, Middle, and High School levels. Through her time in the schools, she attended training for the Visualizing and Verbalizing program as well as the National ASHA conference where she focused on incorporating technology into speech and language therapy. Kristin has presented, “Practical Therapy Techniques and Activities for the school-based SLP” at The Speech and Hearing Association of Virginia (SHAV) conference. Kristin joined the PASTA team in early 2010 after moving to Connecticut with her husband in July of 2009.

Kristin has provided speech-language intervention services for a variety of communication disorders including: articulation and phonological disorders, receptive and expressive language disorders, auditory processing, apraxia of speech, social communication disorders, fluency disorders, and cognitive-communication disorders. She has provided therapeutic services to children with a variety of medical needs and disorders including Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Bipolar, and Mood disorders.

When she’s not working, Kristin enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. She enjoys the outdoors, watching sporting events, playing any type of game with her kids, and the beach. The fall is all about football in the Greenhalgh household, Go Falcons!

Kristin is passionate about helping children reach their full potential. She loves engaging with children and their families to allow everyone involved to be part of the therapeutic process.
